Hello There!

I am the one they call Carlyle, no one calls me C Willy I just like the name…reminds me of the heroic whale.

Long story short I’m a Canadian dude enjoying my time and working in animation. Outside of that I like to make pictures, collect nerdy helmets and pet cats.

And if you still want more….

I used to make short animations with sprite sheets in high school but it wasn’t until I went to Capilano’s Commercial Animation program where I got my first real taste of animation. I enjoyed character design and backgrounds but animation was too much fun. It’s a real pain in the ass but a lot of fun. Getting to put life into something is a weird and cool thing to do, a powerful thing, like some sort of god.

After Capilano I was lucky enough to land a layout artist gig on My Little Pony!:Friendship is Magic season 1 and 2. It was a blast. Great crew, awesome storyboards and wonderful writing. Between seasons I was an animator Planet Sheen, the show about Jimmy Newtron’s loudest and most annoying friend. I Met some great people who I would eventually work with on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

I still can’t believe I get to be a legitimate part of creating Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s such a fantastic show to work on. I’ve been with an amazing crew on a very well oiled production. The folks at Nickelodeon are a delight to work with too, so much creativity and passion come from them it’s hard not to be excited about making a great show. I’m currently an Episodic Director on the show, responsible for overseeing half of the season 5 animation before it gets delivered to Nick, as well as having input on some of the amazing renders coming from the lighting/render/comp team.

Over last 2 years me and my lady have ventured into the con worlds Artist Alley’s. We started at Fan Expo Vancouver in 2015 then got into Rose City Comic Con and returned back for the following year. It’s a really fun way to push our art and try different things. I’ve had a great time so far and will continue to do more in the coming years.

Thanks for stopping by 🙂
